We have a Facebook page which is closed to the public. Currently we have over 50 members who are all vetted as homeowners in our community. This is a great way for members to post information about suspicious activity, lost dogs, mispitched mail and other information which can be displayed and viewed immediately by all members. It's a great way for everyone to stay informed. Click on the Facebook link below.
There are a number of properties, both new and old, around the subdivision that do not have the minimum required number of trees on their lot. All landscaping is to be completed within 6 months of completion of construction. Right now, there is only one home which was recently built which doesn't meeting the minimum requirement for landscaping/trees. Some other homes have been here a while. Letters will soon be sent to these residents with a copy of the covenants, specifically referencing Section II.H, "Landscaping." If you need trees and don't have the time to plant them, give Jared Cutshall a call at 515-480-3710. He can get trees at a discount and plant them for you.
Over the past couple years, we have had incidents where dogs have been leaving their owners' property and harassing other residents walking by on the street. In one case, two dogs attacked another dog while the owner was walking their dog. These incidents have been addressed by law enforcement and animal control.
Per our covenants, it is every homeowners' responsibility to adequately secure your pets WITHIN the confines of their property. If a dog leaves the property to harass and/or attack passers-by on the street, this is in direct violation of the covenants and presents a potentially dangerous situation. If you experience a situation like this, please call 911 and/or Animal Control at 307-635-1453.
Before you build your home, shed, outbuilding, chicken coop, etc., please review the Cherry Hills Covenants which can be found in the "Files" section of this website. You must also contact one of the three individuals on the Architectural Committee to submit plans for review (per instructions in the Covenants).
As a reminder, the posted speed limit in the subdivision is 35 mph. The Board has looked into getting that lowered to 25 mph due to the number of kids living in our subdivision and the fact that higher speeds are the primary cause for washboarding ripples on our dirt roads. Our problem roads are Cherry Blossom Drive, Cherry Wood Lane and Choke Cherry Road, which serve as the primary entry roads to Cherry Hills. Please consider slowing down throughout the subdivision.
There are no "priority" roads in the subdivision and none of our intersections in the subdivision have STOP signs posted except at the three entrances. At all other intersections within the subdivision, the vehicle to the right has the right of way, regardless of who reaches the intersection first. Everyone has observed vehicles flying through intersections thinking they have the right of way when they don't and one of these days, we're going to have a pretty good wreck. Unfortunately, delivery drivers and school buses seem to be the biggest offenders of this documented driving rule. See section on "Right of Way" of the Wyoming Driver's Manual. https://www.dot.state.wy.us/files/live/sites/wydot/files/shared/Driver_Services/Help%20Documents%20and%20Manuals/2021_DriverManual_web_ClassC_w%20cover.pdf
Everyone is reminded to pay attention to the Cherry Hills Covenants, of which everyone should have a copy. There continues to be some violations which need to be remediated. Kenny has spoken with some people about their infractions and those will be fixed in the Spring when the weather breaks and projects can be completed. If you have any unregistered vehicles or any other unauthorized items around your house, please take care of these issues. Letters will be sent out to those who are not in compliance. Folks, the covenants are not overly restrictive and are there to protect everyone's investment in Cherry Hills.
